West Indies Skipper Darren Sammy says ‘No’ to Bangladesh Premier League!West Indies Captain Darren Sammy has decided not to play in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) which begins next month. The all-rounder who was bought by the Sylhet Royals has decided to play in the Regional Four Day Competition back home in the West Indies which clashes with the BPL. Sammy represents the Windward Islands team in the West Indies domestic cricket.
The 28-year-old Saint Lucian Sammy has stated “I am both humbled and honoured by this recognition of me as a professional cricketer. I have discussed with my family and given much thought and consideration to the offer and regrettably I have informed the BPL and the Sylhet Royals that I am unable to accept it at this stage. While I enjoyed playing cricket in front the enthusiastic and passionate Bangladeshi fans the BPL's schedule clashes with that of the West Indies Cricket Board's Regional 4 Day Tournament”. Tickets for the first Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Twenty20 competition will be available from Jan 30. However, the tickets will be available online from Thursday.
Shihab Trading brought the rights to sell the tickets at Tk 450 million, a press conference at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Wednesday announced. The tickets will be sold at 20 branches of Dhaka Bank. They will be available at the branches from Jan 30 and will be available at the website ( http://www.easy.com.bd/ ) from Thursday General and North Gallery tickets cost Tk 500, (two matches and one musical program) Club House tickets cost Tk 3,500, International Gallery tickets cost Tk 5,000 Every seat at the BCB Corporate House will cost Tk 8,000. Of the total 25,000 tickets for Sher-e-Bangla stadium, 20 percent will be sold online, 40 percent will be sold through the bank and the rest 20 percent will be given to BCB complimentarily.
